How Restless Alibi Sounds

Recording & Production
Although the song was written earlier this year, the recording really took shape in June 2026 inside the band’s small (but cosy) studio room in Keighley. The process was fully DIY:
- Drums first, locking in the heartbeat
- Guitars the week after, building the restless tension
- Vocals in July, chasing the emotional edge
The track was mixed by Rowan and mastered by Ben at Rare Tone Mastering in Leeds, giving it a polished but still gritty feel – the kind of production that keeps the emotion front‑and‑centre.
Artwork
The single artwork was created by Echoviolet’s drummer Arran McDougle, inspired directly by the song’s lyrics. The cobweb in the background isn’t just a graphic – it’s taken from a real photo the band shot themselves. It’s a clever visual metaphor for the song’s themes: being stuck, tangled, caught between wanting someone and knowing they’re bad for you.
The New Line‑Up
Restless Alibi marks the first release with Echoviolet’s refreshed lineup:
