Double debut single released Halloween 2025
Hailing from Keighley, West Yorkshire, MINNIS have made a bold entrance with a double single release that’s as dark and intense as the date they chose to drop it Halloween 2025. Their debut tracks, Crooked Man and Survival of the Sickest, showcase a band that’s not just starting out, but starting strong.

MINNIS are no strangers to the local scene. Previously part of Echoviolet – a band that earned BBC Introducing airplay and played venues across Yorkshire – they’ve now forged a new identity. With their own studio tucked away in Keighley, they’ve taken full creative control, recording and producing everything themselves. The result is raw, cinematic, and fiercely independent.
Crooked Man
This track opens with a fuzzy, doom-laced bassline that sets a sinister tone before launching into a riff that’s jagged and relentless. The vocals are gritty and intense, perfectly capturing the menace of the song’s central figure – the Crooked Man.
The lyrics read like a horror story:
“Eyes of black, an aura vile, 8ft man with a VICIOUS smile.” He’s not just a monster- he’s a creeping presence, a curse that slips through cracks and dreams. “He moves like smoke beneath the door” and “He slips inside your quiet dream” evoke a chilling sense of helplessness, reinforced by the chorus’s repeated surrender: “I’m in the palm of his hand.”
The AI-generated video brings this nightmare to life, placing viewers in a ghost-hunting scenario gone wrong. A haunted warehouse corridor, flickering lights, and the Crooked Man closing in- it’s eerie, chaotic, and a perfect visual match for the track’s intensity.

Survival of the Sickest
If Crooked Man is the monster, Survival of the Sickest is the world that made him. This track is a brutal anthem for survival in a world that shows no mercy. The riffs are tight, the vocals spit defiance, and the message is clear: only the strong get by.
“Crawl through the dirt with blood on my hands, This isn’t life, it’s a last stand.” The lyrics are visceral and unflinching. The chorus “Feed the hunger, kill the weakness, keep the fire alive” is a rallying cry for resilience. The bridge adds a haunting edge: “Tear it open, taste the fear, The end is closer than it appears.”
The video takes place in a haunted amusement park, where clowns chase the protagonists through twisted rides and eerie funhouses. As dawn breaks and the clowns melt away, there’s a glimmer of escape – but not without scars. It’s surreal, unsettling, and strangely uplifting.

MINNIS haven’t just turned up – they’ve kicked the door in. With Crooked Man and Survival of the Sickest, they’ve shown they’re not here to mess about. It’s heavy, it’s haunting, and it’s got that raw Yorkshire spirit running right through it.
If this is just the start, there’s plenty more to look forward to.
